RETREATS
Retreat comes from the Latin noun, retret which means to “pull back”. Other definitions are: “a quiet and secluded place in which one can rest and relax” and my favorite, “a period of seclusion for the purposes of prayer and meditation”. I learned of this practice when I was doing my 300 hr meditation teacher training and it has become a necessity for me to quiet my mind and keep my heart open in this busy and often stressful world we live in. It connects me back to the beingness in my human journey and connects me with other souls that mirror back the beauty of being human. I am so grateful to get to use my lens to see others and capture the magic that happens when space is created for us to be, to breathe, to practice, and to connect in heart, mind, and soul. Retreat photography is such a wonderful way to preserve the magical memories and moments that happen in these spaces. Having a photographer who understands the sacredness of retreat as well as can capture all the details that make it special is important in my humble opinion. So, if you need a retreat photographer, I would LOVE to hear from you and discuss all the details of what you are creating and holding space for.
“Let love lead your soul. Make it a place to retire to,
a kind of monastery cave, a retreat for the deepest core of your being.”
